AKSU DECLARES MONDAY 20TH LECTURE FREE,URGES STUDENT TO GET PVC

The Management of Akwa Ibom State University has directed that Monday, the 20th of August 2018 be observed as a lecture-free day, in other to give students ample time to take part in the ongoing Voters Registration Exercise.
To this end, students are enjoined to locate the nearest INEC registration centre closest to where they reside, register and obtain their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), without which they will not be able to vote for their candidates of choice in the 2019 Nigeria's General election.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission had extended the 2018 Voters’ registration exercise by 2 weeks. The implication of this is that exercise which was supposed to end on August 17th will now run till August 31st 2018.
Several ways have been identified that Nigerian youths can help fast track the process of electing credible politicians into positions of power. Some of these include:
- Replacing your damaged or lost Permanent Voters Cards
- Requesting for a transfer of your polling unit if you have relocated from where you originally registered
- Helping to enlighten prospective/registered voters in your ward or immediate locality.
Every well-meaning Nigerian should endeavour to join massively in this exercise and this ought to be given some level of priority at the moment. Remember that "your PVC/Vote is your primary contribution to the development of our beloved country called Nigeria".
