CULTISM: 2 Uniuyo Students, 15 Others Arraigned In Uyo

17 suspected cultists in Akwa Ibom State were on Monday 26th
march arraigned at an Uyo High Court presided over by Justice Archibong
Archibong.
Among them are 300-level student of
Philosophy, 200-level student of Accounting both from the University of Uyo,
two Police Sergeants, one attached to Ibom International Airport, another
attached to Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly member, a self-aclaimed member of
Methodist Church Nigeria, Ekpanya, Uyo and 29-year-old phone repairer at Ibom
Plaza, whose wife is heavily pregnant.
They were arraigned in the early hours
of Monday on a two count charge of terrorism and unlawful possession of
firearms, contrary to Section 6 of Akwa Ibom State Internal Security and
Enforcement Law 2009 and Section 6(1) of Firearms Special Provision Act, Laws
of the Federation 2004.
The
accused persons admitted of being members of “Clan Confraternity" and
"KKK”.
